Angelo is the Chairman of the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) under Governor Newsom’s administration and has served on the board since 2013.
Dr. Angelo(v) Farooq proudly grew up in Jurupa Valley, a community based in the County of Riverside. Angelo and his two younger sisters were raised by a single low-income mother who instilled the value of education to transcend their challenging economic circumstances. He is an entrepreneur and the UC Riverside Director of Economic Development & Innovation.
Angelo is the Chairman of the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) under Governor Newsom’s administration and has served on the board since 2013. The CWDB collaborates with relevant state agencies to develop a common policy framework for the +$6 billion investment of public workforce and career education that serves over 1.5 million people annually. He is also elected on the Board of Education for the Riverside Unified School District (governing 50 public schools).
